Selling timber on a piece of property is a key component to land ownership. At Sizemore and Sizemore, we are experts in all aspects of timber sales.
Timber Sales involves identifying, marking and inventorying the sale area, which is then used to estimate the timber volume. We then develop a timber sale prospectus, which includes general information about the tract, tract location maps, a sale area map, estimated volumes, a bid form, and sample contract. The prospectus is mailed to prospective bidders in and around the sale area approximately one month before the sale date, during which time the tract is open to prospective bidders for inspection. Timber sales are usually conducted on a sealed bid basis. Once the timber is sold, we develop the timber sale contract and monitor the timber harvest once it begins.
